“Police are investigating a fatal accident involving a driver who crashed into the back of a school bus early Wednesday morning.

The driver slammed into the rear of a school bus along Northwest 174th Street and 37th Avenue around 5 a.m. The impact smashed the car’s front windshield and wedged the vehicle under the bus, pinning the driver.

A Good Samaritan, who was one of the first witnesses on the scene, notified police. He said the victim died shortly after the crash. “I saw there was a lot of bleeding on his right side and I grabbed the first thing somebody passed me, which was a pair of shorts,” said Edward Young. “I placed it on the part of his ribs to keep pressure on his ribs so he wouldn’t bleed out so much. Then I saw him go into shock, and that’s when I realized he was going to die.”

The deceased driver is a man in his mid to late 20s.”

“A Miami-Dade Police motorcycle officer involved in a crash was in serious but stable condition Friday, police said.

The collision between the officer and a 2006 Honda Civic occurred about 7:13 a.m. Friday at 37th Street and West 8th Avenue.

The officer was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital. Nobody else was hurt, police spokesman Detective Rebeca Perez said in a statement.

“A woman and two children were taken to a hospital Tuesday afternoon after a car hit them on a Hialeah street.

The incident happened at about 4:30 p.m. near West 12th Avenue and 39th Street in Hialeah. Police said Belkis Hernandez Cabreriza and three children were crossing a street when the car hit three of them.

Ten-year-old Lily Cabreriza made it to the sidewalk moments before the crash, but her mother, 5-year-old sister and 9-year-old cousin were hit by the car.

Carl Zogby of the Hialeah Police Department said the family was not crossing the street at the intersection, but a little beyond.

Police said the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with Hialeah police. Investigators said that at this point, it appears the driver did nothing wrong.”

“Detectives were called out to investigate a four vehicle accident and found 24-year-old Ernesto Otero dead in one of the cars.

“Here’s what happened, according to Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Lt. Pat Santangelo:

A Ford F-250, towing a boat, pulled over to the left shoulder.

About the same time, a red car stopped in front of the truck and got out to help.

The boat fell onto the men, killing one.

The crash killed the 22-year-old driver of the Chevy Malibu. A woman in the car was taken by helicopter to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.”

“A 26-year-old man died early Thursday after a van slammed into the back of his car on the Palmetto Expressway, authorities said.
