Auto Accident

When people drive at 4:30 a.m., they usually enjoy relatively light traffic and few obstacles on the road. However, that could also increase the risk in some ways given the types of drivers who tend to share those roads at that early hour. While no details have yet been released other than the fact that charges are pending on one driver, a Hialeah man was tragically killed this morning on the Palmetto Expressway when he was rear-ended.

According to the Chicago Tribune:

“A 26-year-old man died early Thursday after a van slammed into the back of his car on the Palmetto Expressway, authorities said.

Ruben A. Armas, of Hialeah, was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where he died, according to Lt. Pat Santangelo, a Florida Highway Patrol spokesman.

Armas was driving north in the left lane of the Palmetto at Okeechobee Road about 4:30 a.m.

A Dodge van traveling at a “high rate of speed” crashed into Armas’ Toyota Scion, Santangelo said.

The van’s driver, Micton O. Wallace, was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending, Santangelo said.”

When officials state that charges are pending, it usually indicates that the driver allegedly did something that was somewhat obvious to police that indicates the potential for criminal liability. Of course, the driver could face substantial civil liability as well, and if you or someone you love has been injured or worse in an auto accident, you need the help of Hialeah personal injury lawyers who have been holding those responsible for injuries accountable for more than 20 years.
